Day 260 | February 10

Another quiet day today. Worked from home all day and then tried to venture out to find somewhere quiet for dinner. That was looking like a failure when I randomly ran into some other Remotes on the street, as tends to happen. And we ended up grabbing a bite at Chef Burger which is a local burger chain and a pretty good one at that.

Day 259 | February 9

The nice thing about Medellin is that waking up here feels like waking up in Denver. It’s cool in the morning and they air has that crispness that comes from being in the mountains. And for the first time in I don’t know how long I’m not blasted awake by construction or honking horns. Its a nice change of pace. Felt more on top of it today but still didn’t do much. Worked from home all day and then had a burger at Fire House before heading to weekly Tejo league. Despite feeling a bit better I still called it an early night.

Day 256 | February 6

Naturally my flight out of New Orleans was delayed. So delayed that we all had to disembark the plane after boarding. We finally got underway and I had a row to myself so I was able to get some sleep on the flight. It was a sprint to make my connection in Panama City and I made it to the plane just as they were closing the door. Made it back to Medellin, showered and then fell asleep immediately.

Day 255 | February 5

More not sleeping segued into Irish Coffee’s in the morning and then boarding a fan boat to head out into the swamp and tour around. It’s not exactly “gator season” but we did see some smaller ones and fan boats… always fun. Back in the afternoon to refuel with some beignets and then we hung out in the suite and watched the Super Bowl. After that it was more Bourbon Street times up until 2am when I had to leave and head directly to the airport.

Day 254 | February 4

Not a great deal of sleep last night. Started the morning wandering the streets of New Orleans looking for breakfast. Considering that the two things I’ve greatly missed in my time out of the country have been American breakfasts and cajun food, New Orleans was a great place to come back to. Ended up at Royal House Oyster Bar and had a great breakfast. Some folks went off to play golf in the afternoon but since I don’t own any golf equipment any more I went to Frenchman Street with some others and proceeded to check out every live band that was playing. In the evening we all went for dinner at Jacques-Imo’s and then back to Frenchman Street for more music, and on and on.

Day 253 | February 3

Pretty standard day in the life of Ben. Wake up in Medellin, and fly to a bachelor party in New Orleans that night. It’s not even that terrible of a flight, one connection and six hours later I was back in the States which is always nice. Met up with my buddy and his team at our hotel on Bourbon Street and proceeded to have the kind of evening I suppose one has when staying on Bourbon Street…

Day 252 | February 2

Another work oriented day but I decided to stick around the apartment today since I live so far away from everything. Strolled down to Starbucks to get some coffee for the day and endure some ridicule for going to American places while visiting Colombia. …but there’s nothing else near me! Worked from home for the rest of the day and then had a couple of events in the evening. Went to Cafe Honesto, which is a really cool place, for a talk and tasting of coffees. The highlight of which, though, was these cheese… corn things that I freakin’ loved and will no doubt annoy everyone with my ravings about. Grabbed some sandwiches to-go next door at Bestia which were also quite good and then headed out for the first night of Tejo league. Tejo is… way more fun than I anticipated. It’s basically corn-hole but with explosions. I had to leave early, though, to come home and pack and rest before heading out to a weekend of Bachelor partying in New Orleans. …my life is pretty tough.

Day 251 | February 1

I needed to be highly productive today so it was up early and I even decided to check out our current iteration of Work&Go. I posted up there and basically didn’t move all day. Well with one exception; lunch at this really great sandwich place right around the corner from us. But other than that I powered through until evening and then went home and kept working until I dozed off. Pretty thrilling day in Medellin.
