Headed over to 7AY after a late night to work and attend some of our usual periodic meetings about the upcoming move to Valencia. In the end I’ve really gotten to like Morocco but I’m certainly ready to be getting back to Europe. With the election closing in things have continued to get busier for me and I’ve had to spend time on the phone back with folks in America… and everyone knows how much I hate talking on the phone. In the evening sent out for a dinner reprieve at the Sofitel (after deciding not to go downtown because protests were snarling traffic) with another member of our group who couldn’t wait to get out of Morocco and made a spur of the moment decision to flee the country the next day. Another standard Morocco day.

Day 159 | November 1
Headed over to 7AY to work for the whole day. Despite not really being involved this year I’ve gotten really busy as we have closed in on the Election. In the evening a group of us went to La Table du Réservoir which had good food, live latin music and then transitioned to a DJ later in the evening. I had our very famous Careem driver on the way home and that led to a very necessary stop at the Rabat Burger King before crashing.
Day 158 | October 31
Another quiet day in Rabat. With most folks out of town things have been unusually quiet down to 7AY. I had a lot of work to catch up on yet so I basically just went to the office and worked all day.
Day 157 | October 30
So even though I don’t like the place very much I had breakfast at Paul because it’s close to the killer good bakery, Amoud. So after breakfast I went over there and loaded up on way too many pastries. Had another lazy day and grabbed a pizza at Metros de pizza for dinner.
Day 156 | October 29
Thinking a more relaxed pace for the weekend would help me get things back on track I went to La Deliciosa for breakfast in the morning. As far as Rabat dining options go it was rather above average. The rest of the day was pretty uneventful.
Day 155 | October 28
Another uneventful day as I struggled to go into the weekend with a fully completed task list. Spent the whole day at 7AY. As we get closer to the election my inbox has been blowing up so I wasn’t even able to get much actual work done. After a solid twelve hours I was finally too burnt out to be productive so I went home and crashed.
Day 154 | October 27
Another day dedicated almost entirely to work. Spent the day at the work space but did go out to dinner in the evening with some fellow remotes. We went to this Mexican place, La Bodega. It was alright but it was crazy expensive for Mexican food. Although, that could be because when you order “a burrito” there it’s actually two burritos. Food was ok, not exactly “authentic” though. But what do you expect? It’s Morocco!
Day 153 | October 26
Still paying for my hubris in taking an entire weekend off of work I literally did nothing today. Went to the work space, sat down, started working. Went home twelve hours later and crashed. Thank God for catered lunches!
Day 152 | October 25
Another day completely packed with work. I never realized how important working over the weekend is to keeping up with my life. Three days without a computer and I’m totally swamped now! Luckily after a solid 12 hours of just sitting on the computer not moving I was able to cap it off with a little viewing party and the season premier of the Walking Dead back at my place. Ok! All caught up on the daily entries! That was really starting to hang over my head. I’ll clean them up later…
Day 151 | October 24
Back to the normal slog of work in Rabat today. I don’t think I did a single thing other than go in to 7Ay, put my head down and start working all day. Luckily, I had a long wait for a car in the evening so I managed to read Hope and Other Foolish Pursuits almost in it’s entirety over the course of waiting for a car and then the ride home. Sadly… book club ended up being postponed anyway.
