Day 251 | February 1

I needed to be highly productive today so it was up early and I even decided to check out our current iteration of Work&Go. I posted up there and basically didn’t move all day. Well with one exception; lunch at this really great sandwich place right around the corner from us. But other than that I powered through until evening and then went home and kept working until I dozed off. Pretty thrilling day in Medellin.

Day 250 | January 31

Hey, 250 days in. That feels like it should be some kind of milestone. I’d like to say I did something to mark the occasion but… not enough to have actually done something. I had a rousing day of going to Dunkin’ Donuts in the morning not all that successfully. Worked from home for the whole day and then went to our orientation event at Brew House. Afterwards there was a roast for a couple of our fellow Remotes who are departing. Short story on that; freaking hilarious. I was blown away by how well done everyone’s pieces were.

Day 249 | January 30

Literally did nothing but worked today. Worked from home too which I never do but my current place actually has natural light for a change and we’ve got a big dining room table that makes it convenient. Took one brief lunch break at J&C Delicias which is a chain arepas joint but other than that I basically powered through until I fell asleep.

Day 248 | January 29

First full day in Medellin. Went to the grocery store with my roommates in the morning despite my never cooking at home. Was a bit disoriented to at long last be in an American style grocery store. In the afternoon we undertook the normal day one routine of just walking around the the city aimlessly. We stopped at 37 Park for lunch which is a really cool place and naturally ran into another half dozen people as they were walking by. In the evening we went up to watch the sunset at this lookout on the mountains and then out for drinks at Woka which was a cool jungle themed place that was also… a little odd.

Day 247 | January 28

Despite the fact that my flight for Medellin didn’t leave until noon I still had to be up and out of my place by around 8am. Of course, this was the case for most of us so I lugged all my stuff down to Canasto Picnic Bistro for breakfast where we had basically overrun the terrace with our party and it’s luggage. Hung out there for a while before heading to the airport where we were sad to learn that our gate was in the one tiny area without a lounge. The flight to Medellin from Bogota is a snap, though. I think we were in the air for… thirty  minutes? The Medellin airport is really far from town, though, so it was another 40 minute drive to meet up and get the keys to our place. The part of town we are in is dominated by malls so we ended up eating in one at Romero Cocina once we were settled. In the evening a big group of folks went to this craft beer place fittingly named… Brew House. I called it a relatively early night from there.
