We rolled into Mexico City at 5am. Five hours after we departed Madrid but after a 12 hour plane ride. Passport control was a total mob scene even at 5am and was the last thing anyone wanted to endure after a 12 hour flight. Despite what it felt like things moved at an ok pace and I made it to my new apartment in about three hours from landing. Sadly my keys didn’t work but luckily my roommate had already arrived and she was able to let me in. Some of us went out for breakfast in the neighborhood at Crepes & Waffles. It was amazing after being on a plane for that long but I don’t think I’d go back.
I headed over to Pasion del Cielo, a coffee shop, to try and catch up with work and the world in general after our trip but wasn’t very productive so I opted instead to go for lunch to La Casa de Tono which was totally slammed and had great food. In the evening we had welcome drinks at this place Bellini which is (supposedly) the largest rotating restaurant in the world. As the sign outside was good enough to tell me… It was a cool view but as there were so many of us we were quite packed in! After this… 31 hour day I was beat and headed home.
